UoN and KNH succesfully hold International Conference on Health

The University of Nairobi Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) and Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) held the 5th International Conference on Health (ICH 2021) from 27th to 29th October 2021. 

The virtual conference brought together leading healthcare practitioners and intellectual leaders from Kenya and around the world.

The aim of the conference was to provide a forum for researchers, clinicians, academicians, leading health practitioners, students and stakeholders to present their research and expert opinions on research, policy and professional practice.

The conference was graced by Prof. Margaret Hutchinson, Associate Vice Chancellor, Research, Innovation & Enterprise who also represented Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama, Dr. Kennedy Odede, who represented Dr. Evanson Kamuri, CEO, Kenyatta National Hospital and Prof. James Machoki, Dean Faculty of Health Sciences.

Keynote speakers at the conference were; Dr. Rashid Aman, Chief Administrative Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr. Nollascus Ganda, from the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Loice Ombajo, senior lecturer at UoN, Dr. Willis Akhwale, the Chairman of the National Task force on Covid-19 Deployment and Vaccination and Muluka-Anne Miti-Drummond, UN Independent Expert on Albinism.

The conference saw various scholars and researchers make presentations of research papers and posters drawn from a broad range of the health sciences and related disciplines.

The theme of this year’s event was; Healthcare and Innovation in the Pandemic Era
