UoN prides in training high calibre health professionals as it marks golden jubilee

The University of Nairobi (UoN) prides in taking a leading role in training of qualified healthcare professionals as it celebrates its golden jubilee this year.

The celebrations to mark UoN’s 50 years of existence since its inception in 1970 were led by the Chancellor, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi on 10th December, 2020.

Tunisia Health Alliance and Kenya Healthcare Federation collaboration with CHS

The University of Nairobi (UoN) College of Health Sciences (CHS) on Monday 14th December, 2020 hosted a delegation from Tunisia Health Alliance and Kenya Healthcare Federation (KHF).  The delegation was received by CHS Principal, Prof. James Machoki M’Imunya and Dr. Peter Arimi, Technical Lead, Operations, Strategic Partnerships and Linkages, Center for Research, Innovation and Grants Advancement (CERIGA) 

5709 graduate as UoN holds 2nd virtual graduation ceremony

The University of Nairobi (UoN) Chancellor Dr. Vijoo Rattansi conferred degrees and awarded diplomas to 5,709 graduands during the 64th UoN graduation ceremony held on 11th December, 2020.

This was the second graduation ceremony the University successfully held virtually in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

During the ceremony, the University awarded honorary degrees to Prof. Julia Ojiambo and Prof. Micere Mugo.

CHS gets PPEs donation from Equity Group and Kenya COVID-19 board fund

The University of Nairobi (UoN) was among 11 universities that received a donation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) courtesy of Equity Group Foundation and the Kenya COVID-19 Fund Board.

USAID comes to the aid of final year medical students

The University of Nairobi (UoN) School of Medicine received Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) support worth 12 million Kenya shillings from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The PPEs were handed over to UoN Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama by Mark Meassick, the Mission Director of USAID Kenya and East Africa on 16th September, 2020.

CHS welcomes new students virtually

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) formally welcomed freshmen for 2020/2021 academic year during the first virtual orientation on 2nd September, 2020.

During the orientation, the students were addressed by the college Principal, Prof. James Machoki and Deputy Principal, Prof. Evelyn Wagaiyu.
