KAVI Institute of Clinical Research launches IAVI W001 study

KAVI Institute of Clinical Research enrolled the first volunteer to start a phase 1 clinical trial to test a novel HIV vaccine candidate, BG505 SOSIP.664 gp140.

The study dubbed the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative W001 (IAVI W001) is aimed at assessing the safety of the candidate and to determine if vaccination induces the human immune system to produce proteins known as neutralizing antibodies (NAbs).

Kidney hospital dream come true for Prof. Mungai

Prof. Peter Mungai, the Director of the East Africa Kidney Institute (EAKI) will be the happiest man on earth once the construction works of the kidney hospital will be completed.

According to him, he has had a dream of building a kidney hospital for many years and its completion will be a dream come true.

Prof. Jaoko honoured for role in fight against HIV/AIDS

Prof. Walter Jaoko, Director KAVI-Institute of Clinical Research was one of the ten individuals who were honoured at the Ten out of Ten (1O/10) Awards held at the House of Lords in the Palace of Westminster, London on 9th September, 2019.

The Ten out of Ten Awards aims at facilitating an important conversation about the intersection that must converge in order to meet the UN targets of globally ending all new HIV diagnosis by 2030.
