The department of Human Pathology on Thursday 3rd August 2023 hosted Prof. Véronique Blanchard from Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany at the Faculty of Health Sciences, for a public lecture on the Omics discipline “Validation of the serum N-glycome based biomarker for ovarian cancer via a multi-centre study in Kenya and Germany”
This is the first series of Dr.Francis Wanyama disseminating results of his PhD work in Germany, a multi-centre study on ovarian cancer involving German and Kenyan populations. He is a beneficiary of a partnership programme between University of Nairobi and Charité University, which allows for collaborative PhD studies between students from both universities.
In addition, DAAD Nairobi office was present at the event. The representative gave information on masters/doctoral programs as well as research opportunities in Germany.
The event had representatives from different departments including Prof. Cheserem from the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department who congratulated the team for their successful research.
