AMSUN holds Leave No Medic Behind Initiative Charity Run

Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs, Prof. Julius Ogeng’o flags off the Leave no Medic Behind Charity Run.

The Association of Medical Students University of Nairobi (AMSUN) Leave No Medic Behind Initiative Charity Run was held on Saturday 4th June 2022.

The event which was held at Kenyatta Campus was flagged of by Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs, Prof. Julius Ogeng’o.

The run was held to raise funds to meet the financial needs of underprivileged students at the School of Medicine.

Prof. Ogeng’o said University management supports the matter of needy students through the office of the dean of students office  and backs student activities in all the initiatives particularly like such.

Additionally, the DVC said he totally relates with the event because it promotes the spirit of partnership and collaboration.

The Leave No Medic Behind was started 2017. Since then LNMB has primarily done student-centered funds drive using the harambee model however in 2022 there emerged the idea to organise for a charity run.

The project was organized in conjunction with the AMSUN Running Club- a registered club of runners in the School of Medicine.
