Defence Forces Medical Training School benchmarks at FHS

Faculty of Health Sciences Dean, Prof. James Machoki hosts a delegation from Kenya Defence Forces.

Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) Dean Prof. James Machoki hosted a team of officers from the Defence Forces Medical Training School who were on a benchmarking tour at the Faculty.

The Defence Forces Medical Training School is a medical training facility in the Kenya Defence Forces and is in the process of transitioning into a College of Health Sciences, a constituent College of the National Defence University- Kenya (NDU-K).

The college plans to start a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Military Health (BScN & MH) degree program whose curriculum is in the development stage.

The officers were at the Faculty to learn to learn how teaching of health courses is managed, familiarize themselves with professional and university regulations in place, and understand training method in place for successful implementation of training among other issues pertaining the course.

Prof. Machoki assured the team of the support not only from the Faculty of Health Sciences, but also from the entire University of Nairobi as NDU-K embarks on establishment plans.

He said he will be readily available together with his team for consultation to ensure that the establishment of the college is successful.
