Courtesy call by Dr. Gardner from Western Australia

The Dean FHS Prof. George  Osanjo  hosted Dr. Andrew Gardner, a senior staff specialist anaesthetist in Department of Anaesthesia, Sir. Charles Gairdner Hospital, and Chair, Sir. Charles Gairdner Hospital Clinical Association.

Dr. Gardner has been the visiting lecturer at the Department of Anaesthesia on paid leave and support from the Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, Western Australia.

He has been a specialist anaesthetist for over 25 years,  with extensive academic  experience in teaching and  examination in anaesthesia. He is widely published both in journals and book chapter submissions.

Dr. Gardner has specialty training and interest in anaesthetizing patients for cardiac and thoracic surgery, liver transplantation and neurosurgery as well as simulation education.

In his time in the Department of Anaesthesia, UoN, he gave a series of lectures and clinical teachings as well as  webinar hosted by the Kenya Society of Anaesthesiologists.

The visit to the Dean explored areas of collaborations and future engagement with the Australian Academic fraternity  as well as capacity building and academic support with opportunity access.
