Prof. Walter Jaoko, Director KAVI-Institute of Clinical Research was one of the ten individuals who were honoured at the Ten out of Ten (1O/10) Awards held at the House of Lords in the Palace of Westminster, London on 9th September, 2019.
The Ten out of Ten Awards aims at facilitating an important conversation about the intersection that must converge in order to meet the UN targets of globally ending all new HIV diagnosis by 2030.
The honourees drawn from different parts of the world were individual representatives from academics, researchers, civil servants, human rights advocates and social influencers who have made a significant contribution to the fight against the HIV epidemic through providing the strategic leadership, innovation and research required to see the end of the epidemic.
During the Awards, Baroness Elizabeth Barker, who officiated the ceremony highlighted the contribution Prof. Jaoko has made to the global research world in HIV/AIDS in the past 30 years, and congratulated him for these achievements.
The College of Health Sciences, University of Nairobi is proud to be associated with Prof. Jaoko’s recognition as a global HIV/AIDS researcher and wishes him all the best as he continues to make an impact in this important field.
