Visit by delegation from PUC Chile.

The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Nairobi was pleased to host a delegation from the School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC Chile) on April 30, 2025.

This courtesy call marked a significant step forward in fostering academic collaboration and global partnerships in health sciences education and research.

The PUC Chile delegation included Prof. Ricardo Campos (Physical Therapist), Carolina Tirado (Physical Therapist), Andreas Sanchez (Speech Therapist), and Bernardita Sevwnin (Occupational Therapist). The team was warmly received by members of the UoN Faculty of Health Sciences including the Dean, Prof. George Osanjo, Dr. Peter Oyiro, Dr. Michael Magoha, Dr. Peter Maturi, Ms. Sarah Ndegwa, and Ms. Beldine Ogutu.

Also in attendance were members of the UoN Spanish Club, Clement Amoke and Andreal Millenia, who contributed to the engaging cross-cultural dialogue.

Discussions during the visit focused on strengthening collaboration between the two institutions. Key areas of interest included: Shared Initiatives in Health Programmes, International Student Mobility and Joint Research Initiatives. Collaborative research in areas of mutual interest, particularly in physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and broader public health domains.

The visit concluded with a renewed commitment to explore and implement these initiatives, paving the way for impactful academic exchanges and long-term partnerships.

The Faculty of Health Sciences looks forward to deepening this collaboration with PUC Chile and creating meaningful opportunities for faculty, students, and researchers in the field of health sciences.
