The First Aid Club at the University of Nairobi successfully held its 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, 3rd May 2025 at the Faculty of Health Sciences – Kenyatta National Hospital campus.
The event served as a reflective session and a strategic touchpoint to recognize outstanding members and unveil future plans.
The AGM began with a heartfelt opening address by the Club Chairman. He highlighted the value of leadership anchored in service and teamwork, stating,
“A club thrives not by the number of members it has, but by the strength of commitment each one brings,”
The Club Patron – Prof Nyaim Elly Opot, Senior Lecturer – Department of Surgery, graced the session and delivered an insightful keynote titled:
“The Role of Student Clubs and Associations in Contemporary Leadership in Healthcare Settings – and How It Can Be Achieved.”
In his address, he lauded the club's numerous achievements and emphasized the critical role of student-led initiatives in shaping professional healthcare leaders.
“Leadership begins with service, is nurtured by consistency, and blossoms where there is unity of purpose,” he noted.
In a moment of celebration, the club honored its members who demonstrated remarkable contributions throughout the academic year:
