Dept of Surgery hosts lecture on advancing newborn hearing screening in Kenya

The Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Nairobi, in partnership with the Hear Kenya Initiative and the Baker Institute for Children with Hearing Loss, successfully hosted a lecture on Advancing Newborn Hearing Screening in Kenya.

The event brought together healthcare professionals, students, and stakeholders to discuss strategies for strengthening early hearing detection and intervention across the country.

The session featured expert presentations and a documentary screening titled Listen to Me! It highlighted real-life experiences and emphasized the importance of early hearing screening for improved childhood outcomes.

The forum underscored the need for collaboration, policy support, and awareness to ensure every child in Kenya has access to timely hearing screening and care.
