Kenyatta National Hospital, University Of Nairobi And The Centre For Disease Control (Cdc) Held A Joint Meeting on 17th July 2019 at the CEO’S boardroom where they discussed strategies towards strengthening the country’s HIV epidemic control efforts.
CDC is an organization that provides funding and technical assistance in support of Kenya’s efforts in HIV prevention and the identification and linkage to treatment of people living with HIV, with a specific focus on high burden areas and underserved populations.
Although awareness of HIV and AIDS is high in Kenya, many people living with HIV face high levels of stigma and discrimination which prevent them from accessing treatment.
The partnership between KNH and CDC will help to steer the health system in Kenya towards providing better treatment to HIV patients as well as help reduce the stigma they face from society
