Dental School Celebrates Golden Jubilee

The University of Nairobi Dental school on 14th of October 2023 celebrated 50 years of existence.
Since being founded in 1974 the school has graduated at least 20 students each year. It prides itself having the highest number of alumni dentists practicing around the country.


The celebrations were attended by The director General of Health Dr. Patrick Amoth, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nairobi, the Deputy Vice Chair in charge of Academic Affairs(DVC-AA), the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, other members of staff and the general public.


In his speech, the chief guest Dr. Amoth congratulated the staff of the Dental school especially Dr. Walter Odhiambo the department Chair for their exemplary work of training and nurturing dentists.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Kiama joined the rest of the school in celebrating their achievements including community service outreach on Oral health through free medical camps.


The Dental school commemorated their 50-year achievement by having free oral medical checkups for the public, which saw more than 500 people including children being attended to.
