The University of Nairobi Faculty of Health Sciences admitted the 2024/2025 first year cohort.
The 3-day activity that begun on 19th August, 2024, saw over 500 students come in to begin their medical odyssey.
The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. George Osanjo welcomed the freshmen by congratulating them for their efforts made academically to earn a spot at the faculty.
"The Faculty boasts of producing the best in the medical field who have the ability to transform the society," he said.
Throughout the 3 days of admission, the dedicated staff of the faculty were prompt in ensuring smooth admissions of the new pack.
Other heads of departments were also present for the welcoming address where they shared encouraging remarks with the new students.
The heads of department emphasized on the core business of studies at the university, the need to keep their social lives active and also keeping their mental health in check which has been a struggle with many students in the past, especially those in the medical field.
The Associate Dean, represented by Prof. Daniel Ojuka, from the Department of Surgery gave his welcoming remarks to the freshmen. He encouraged them to focus on their studies by attending all classes, avoiding cheating in exams and being prompt in assignments and personal studies.
