Emergencies don’t send invites – and when chaos hits, you’ll be glad someone knows what they’re doing. That’s where the First Aid Club at the University of Nairobi steps in, committed to turning ordinary students into cool-headed lifesavers.
On October 4th, 5th, and 11th, 2025, the club hosted an intensive Occupational First Aid training for selected undergraduate healthcare students at the Faculty of Health Sciences. Organised by the ever-brilliant Mr. Hamza Kamrudin – YES Program alumnus and a medical student with a heart for cross-cultural impact – the training was fully sponsored by the YES Alumni Program, making it absolutely free for participants. We love a scholarship moment.
In partnership with St. John Ambulance Kenya, the program went beyond textbook theory. Trainees tackled real-life, adrenaline-packed simulations – road accidents, blazing fires, collapsed patients at public events – you name it. From CPR to crisis composure, they learned to stay calm, think fast, and save lives like pros in the making.
One trainee summed it up perfectly:
“This wasn’t just about learning First Aid; it was about becoming a responsible medic and citizen. Plus, the family-like support in this club? Unmatched.”
So next time disaster strikes in the faculty – relax. Our students are trained, ready, and will have you patched up and hospital-bound before you can say “help!”
You’ll be fine in no time… like it never even happened.
