A study conducted by scholars on women planning conception revealed that they are more
prone to Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Infections.
The study aimed at developing a risk score to identify women with higher likelihood of
contracting Chlamydia Trachomatis infection. This would determine prioritization of
patients at risk for lab testing.
CT infection testing is a very costly affair. To encourage early detection, identification of
those at higher risk is key. With the development of the risk chart, women planning
conception were identified as those at a higher risk. Chlamydia trachomatis is an STI of
significant clinical importance.
