The Faculty of Health Sciences is the winner of the 5th edition of the University of Nairobi annual sports day held on Friday, 3rd November, 2023.
This was a great improvement for the team that emerged as 2nd runners up in last year’s event.
The teams comprising of both staff and students is commonly referred to as Team Afya, produced sterling performance in different games categories.
The team bagged a total of 12 medals in the students' category and 2 medals in the staff category.
FHS topped in the students' combined medal standing bagging 6 gold medals and 6 silver medals, followed by the Faculty of Science and Technology with 14, medals; 4 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze. The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences came 3rd with 11 medals; 4 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze.
Prof. George Osanjo, the FHS Dean congratulated the team for the excellent performance during the games and thanked each and every player for their dedication and teamwork.
