Recent research underscored a critical need for improved surveillance and diagnostic follow-up for breast cancer during community-based screening efforts. According to this study, by researchers from UoN, while the prevalence of breast-related symptoms is high, the identification of established risk factors remains low. This in turn necessitates a critical need for improved surveillance efforts for this health challenge.

A recent study done by a team of researchers from the University of Nairobi proposes immediate reforms of the health frameworks put in place to manage breast cancer in the country, the East African region and the larger African continent.
