The Kenyatta National Hospital held its 2nd Clean-up day on the 10/06/2023 to commemorate World Environment Day. In attendance were the KNH fraternity, management and various stakeholders of the hospital.
The day was packed full of different activities including tree planting, grass cutting, picking litter and drainage cleaning around the hospital Estate. More than one hundred trees were planted. The hospital leadership emphasized on the need for a clean and safe environment. This helps control epidemics that affect not only the hospital staff but also the patients who visit the hospital.
The day came us an affirmative action in support of the world environment day theme of putting an end to use of plastics.
The dean of Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. George Osanjo was also in attendance joining the rest of the KNH team in the clean-up exercise and tree planting. Dr. Zahida Qureshi of the University of Nairobi donated hand sanitizers to the hospital.
