FHS emerges 2nd runners up in annual varsity sports day

The Faculty of Health Sciences emerged 2nd runners up in this year’s University of Nairobi annual sports day.

The teams comprising of both staff and students commonly known as Team Afya, had an impressive performance during the games.

Team Afya won gold medals in chess (women) and rugby; silver medals in netball and chess (men), and bronze medals in hockey, basketball, swimming and athletics.

The students’ team received a fantastic bronze in overall ranking and the staff team got a magnificent silver.

The Faculty Dean Prof. George Osanjo congratulated the team for the impressive performance.

“The achievement has brought out our great team spirit. On behalf of the FHS community I extend hearty congratulations to the Games Tutor, Ms. Rose Marete, all the team captains and individual team members for their collective and individual effort. Well done Team Afya!” Prof. Osanjo said in a statement.
