The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) team commonly known as Team Afya was feted for emerging top during the University of Nairobi Annual Sports Day 2023.
FHS Dean Prof. George Osanjo presided over the event and awarded certificates to the team, that comprises of both students and staff.
In his remarks, Prof. Osanjo appreciated the team members for taking their time to participate in the Sports Day and win trophies, saying they did well.
“I personally celebrate and appreciate you, as a Faculty we are proud of you,” Prof. Osanjo said.
The Dean noted that sports is one way that brings unity and among people and also an opportunity for creating mentorship and connections.
“You have made lots of friends, sports unite us, and you'll cherish this friendship. I know you have mentored one another as you studied together and you have been able create connections,” Prof. Osanjo said.
Team Afya was crowned winners of the annual UoN Sports Day 2023 after getting a total of 14 medals, 7 gold, 6 silver and 1 bronze.
