Over 10 KCSE top performers to study medicine at UoN

More than 10 top performers in 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) will join the University of Nairobi (UoN) Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) to study medicine.

Simiyu Robin Wanjala who topped in the national exams had wished to study medicine at UoN. His dream has come true after the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) placed him to study Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at UoN.

UoN, HSFC KE sign pact to enhance training, clinical care and research in human reproduction

The University of Nairobi (UoN) College of Health Sciences (CHS) has signed a collaborative training and research agreement with Harley Street Fertility Centre Kenya Limited (HSFC KE).

The agreement will see the two organizations carry out training, clinical care, and research in human reproduction with emphasis on advanced assisted reproductive techniques at CHS, HSFC KE and affiliated fertility and andrology clinics.

UoN scientists join their African counterparts to find vaccines and medicine in the continent

Research scientists from the University of Nairobi have teamed up with their colleagues from other African countries to form the Sisulu Foundation for African and Pandemic Disease Response (The Sisulu Foundation).

College embarks on drive to plant 500 trees

College of Health Sciences (CHS) Principal, Prof. James Machoki led staff and students in a drive to plant 500 trees at Kenyatta Campus on 18th May, 2021.

The tree planting exercise was carried out simultaneously in seven sites at the University of Nairobi (UoN).

UoN rolls out COVID-19 vaccination

The University Health Services has now been registered as a COVID-19 Vaccination Centre by the Ministry of Health and the Nairobi County Government, through the Nairobi Metropolitan Services.

The Vaccination will commence on Thursday April 8, 2021 at 8.30AM outside of the Main Students Clinic. It should be noted that the University Vaccination Centre will be required to observe Government prioritization guidelines and to comply with COVID-19 health protocols. In this regard, the following categories of the priority target groups will be eligible:

Call for papers: UoN/KNH 5th International Conference on Health

The University of Nairobi College of Health Sciences (CHS) and Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) will host the 5th International Conference on Health (ICH 2021). 

The conference will bring together leading healthcare practitioners and intellectual leaders from Kenya and around the world.

College receives assorted medical equipment donation from Republic of Hungary and Slovenia

The University of Nairobi (UoN) College of Health Sciences (CHS) is among three public health institutions that has benefited from a donation of medical equipment from the Republic of Hungary and the Republic of Slovenia.

The assorted medical equipment worth Kshs. 20M  was officially handed over to CHS in a ceremony that was held on 12th February, 2021. 

UoN Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama was represented at the event by Prof. Julius Ogengó, Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs.
