Courtesy call by the University of Nairobi Alumni Association

The University of Nairobi Alumni Association on the 7th of September 2023 paid a courtesy call to the Faculty of Health Sciences. Their visit targeted the Department of Pharmacy. 

The meeting allowed discussions around strenghthening ties between the department and the Association through engaging in and supporting different activities in partnership to help grow both establishments.

Italian collaborations with University of Nairobi Faculty of Health Sciences

On the 6th of September 2023 visitors from Italy including a representative from the embassy of Italy and a Professor of Urology from Campus Bio Medico University of Rome. The courtesy call aimed at setting up collaborations between the Faculty and other medical stakeholders from Italy. In attendance was a representative from the Ministry of Health- Kenya Dr. Ouma Oluga.

Admission patterns of orthopedic and trauma patients in Kenyatta National Hospital; A Descriptive study

Scholars conducted a study to determine the admission patterns of orthopedic and trauma patients at the Kenyatta National Hospital. The study included reviewing 109 patient charts to determine the cause of admission.

The study revealed that a majority of patients admitted with trauma and orthopedic injuries were of middle age between 25 and 64 years. The average age was 33.8 years. More men than women were admitted for the same.
