Globally, tuberculosis (TB) testing and treatment have declined dramatically during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A study conducted at the national referral hospital’s TB Clinic in Lusaka, Zambia, in the first year of the pandemic showed that the COVID-19 pandemic significantly disrupted TB care in Zambia, which could have had long-lasting impacts on TB transmission and mortality.

Launch of Integrated New Tools in fighting tuberculosis in Mathare North.

The fight against Tuberculosis (TB) was stepped up following the launch of new tools to help in the diagnostic and treatment of the disease in Kenya.

The tools which were launched in Mathare North Health Facility aim at curbing the spread of TB in Kenya by introducing modern and efficient tools to test and monitor patients of TB for their full recovery and prevention to those who have been exposed to the disease.
