The College of Health Sciences (CHS) COVID-19 Response and Research Committee held inaugural virtual research forum on 7th July, 2020.
The main objective of holding the session was to discuss research being conducted at CHS towards COVID-19 response.
There are several exciting research projects lined up for presentation during the sessions that will be held every Tuesday from 9am to 10am.
The research will be life changing, not only in Kenya but also across the globe and will provide an opportunity of understanding COVID-19 much better and be able to tackle the pandemic and get back to normalcy.
Dr. Pamela Godia from the School of Public Health was the presenter during the inaugural session.
She presented a proposal of research work being conducted at the School of Public Health titled; Covid-19 response preparedness in Kenya, access to and utilisation of other essential health services and related experiences of health care providers and covid-19 survivors.
The research is aimed at assessing existing Kenyan health system preparedness and response to COVID-19 capacity, the impact of COVID-19 utilisation of other essential health services, and the experiences of both the survivors and health care providers.
Dr. Godia and her team expect the results of this study to inform the county government preparedness for COVID-19 pandemic, provide an avenue for alternative source of information and create a dashboard at the UoN-CHS, School of Public Health for continuous monitoring of the course of the pandemic.
