UoN, KNH and NESA host 2nd surgical workshop

The University of Nairobi in partnership with the Kenyatta Hospital and New European Surgical Academy (NESA) held a second surgical workshop. The main focus being on obstetrics and gynecology health.

A team from NESA led by the founder Dr. Michael Stark and four other gynecology specialists were the main speakers during the workshop, training the attendees on new and improved skills for handling gynecology cases.

Lead Exposure in Nairobi's Informal Settlements: Impact on Maternal and Child Health

Scholars conducted research on Maternal and Umbilical Cord Blood Lead Levels on selected informal settlements in Nairobi, Kenya.

The study included mothers from the Dandora and Kariobangi estates who went to deliver at the Pumwani hospital. Blood samples and umbilical cord samples were collected and screened at the government chemist.
