Launch of The Wound Care Illustrated Text Book

A wound care symposium organized by the wound society of Kenya was held on 28th, July 2023 at the
University of Nairobi at Faculty of Health Sciences Lecture Theatre Three.


The colorful event had a host of doctors speaking on different topics concerning wound care. The
topics included basic wound care knowledge, wound dressing and modern technology, nutrition in
wound care management and management of chronic wounds.

KAVI-Institute of Clinical Research Wins IAVI EQA Awards

KAVI-Institute of Clinical Research (KAVI-ICR) was awarded the 2022 International AIDS Vaccine Initiative
(IAVI) External Quality Assessment (EQA) Awards For Tier 1 and Tier 2. This is the second year running
that the Institute has won this prestigious award. It recognizes the best performing laboratories
amongst their Clinical Research Centres in Africa. The Institute at the University of Nairobi, KNH Campus
was first among Tier 1 and the Kangemi site among Tier 2.

Pain and palliative care workshop by KEHPCA and University of Nairobi

Pain management is key in delivering quality health care for patients. This was the
main message during a training conducted by Kenya Hospice and Palliative Care
Association(KEHPCA) on Pain and palliative care. The hybrid training saw more than
100 participants in attendance.
The training targeted this year's finalists to equip them with palliative care
knowledge to deliver better care for their patients as they head out for their
internships.
