The one week Anorectal Malformations Surgical Conference ended on 19th July 2019, with a symposium at Radisson Blu Hotel. The symposium sought to address the way forward for ARM, as most challenges had already been highlighted during the seminar.

Currently in Kenya, the burden of cancer is estimated at 47,887 new cases and 32,978 deaths annually. It is further estimated that there are 3,200 new cases of cancer annually among children below 18 years.

Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) is the main public Hospital in Kenya offering comprehensive cancer treatment and serves patients from all over the country and the region.In 2015, KNH in partnership with American Cancer Society (ACS) conducted a study on cancer patients attending outpatient clinic to determine barriers to cancer treatment.
